Conservative leaders are demanding that the Senate pass the SAVE Act, legislation that will require American citizens to show valid identification and ensure that illegal immigrants do not interfere in the United States election processes.

On Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader John Thune called out Democrats for holding Department of Homeland Security funding hostage for political gain amid a partial shutdown. “We need to have a secure border, and we need to deport criminal illegal immigrants,” he stated, noting that Senate Republicans will not support measures that hinder law enforcement’s ability to protect American law, in a clip shared to X by Chief Content Officer at Right Line News and Florida Voice News, Eric Daugherty.

Daughertry offered a simple solution to this ongoing clash between Democrats who support open borders and defunding police. He wrote, “Pressure is at a HISTORIC HIGH for the Senate to ram through the SAVE America Act with 50 votes and JD Vance. 85% PERCENT of Americans support this! Make Dems go on RECORD and force a vote. Get it to 47’s desk!”

Shortly after, during his State of the Union Address, President Donald Trump urged the Senate to pass the Save America Act. “It’s very simple, all voters must show voter ID,” he stated, noting the importance of securing elections for American citizens to protect the nation’s interests. He added that support for the Save Act is “polling at 89 percent, including Democrats.

Leader of The Persistence movement to put America First in American politics, Scott Presler, noted on X that support for this measure is so high that he received countless texts begging for the Save America Act to be brought to the Senate Floor.

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., has avidly supported the measure. He reminded voters that the SAVE Act ensures only US citizens can vote and requires every voter to present an ID. “Over 80% of Americans agree—this is common sense.” He urged the Senate to pass the Act and concluded, “Election integrity is essential for the future of our country.”

The SAVE Act passed the House last year and has been sitting with the Senate since April.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., who voted in favor of the act, also posted to X on Tuesday, stating, “When you realize the Biden Admin issued over 3.8 million social security cards to noncitizens, you realize why it’s so important to pass the SAVE America Act.”

Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., agreed and posted to X, “Today is day 11 that the SAVE America Act has 50 co-sponsors. Time to bring it to the floor for a standing filibuster, @LeaderJohnThune!
