The Republican National Committee (RNC) achieved an election integrity victory in Pennsylvania, the organization reported in a press release on Thursday.

The legal win was based on a controversy related to Montgomery County where ballots were sent out without required testing.

“Election officials must be held accountable, and that’s exactly what we’ve done in Montgomery County. Rules, safeguards, and laws are critical to ensuring there are no holes in the system that undermine voters or election integrity,” RNC Chairman Michael Whatley said in the press release.

“We have verified the facts, confirmed that the illegally sent ballots will be cast and counted properly, and protected early voters in the Keystone State,” he added.

The result of the lawsuit included Montgomery County admitting they ignored ballot guidelines and ensuring the ballots will be cast and counted properly.

The RNC explained that Pennsylvania counties test ballots before providing them to voters to make sure the ballots will be properly counted. Testing includes ballot format, layout, paper and scannability.

After Montgomery County Commissioner Neil Makhija posted on social media on Sept. 17, the RNC legal team investigated how the county had time to conduct Ballot Accuracy Testing. The Secretary of the Commonwealth had certified the 2024 ballot only half a day earlier.

The RNC lawsuit discovered that Ballot Accuracy Testing had not been completed between the time that the Secretary certified the ballot on Sept. 16 and when Makhija voted.

Montgomery County also admitted they performed more thorough testing of the ballots on Sept. 23.

Ballot accuracy and logic and accuracy testing is required by law. The lawsuit impacted 115,000 mail ballots, according to the RNC.

The legal victory follows two election integrity lawsuits on Tuesday to stop illegal overseas voting, RSBN previously reported.

The RNC sued the North Carolina State Board of Elections and Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson for allowing overseas citizens who never lived in either state to illegally vote.

“North Carolinians and Michiganders should not have their votes canceled by those who’ve never lived in the state in the first place – plain and simple,” RNC Chairman Michael Whatley said in a statement.

“This is illegal and we will stop it. While Democrats want an election system that disregards the law, we are committed to election integrity across the country,” he added.
