RNC takes action in Maine over non-citizens voting in elections

The November elections are just around the corner, and the Republican National Committee (RNC) and Maine GOP are taking a stand as emerging reports reveal non-citizens interfering in the Maine elections.

The RNC and Maine GOP have responded to newly released exclusive records that claim votes have been cast under the names of non-citizens in Maine elections since 2016.

A news outlet, the Maine Wire, obtained whistleblower records from the Maine Secretary of State’s office. The records showed that illegal immigrants had previously voted in federal, state, and local Maine elections.

The records also show illegal immigrants billing healthcare provider Medicaid for hundreds of thousands of dollars in the state. These individuals are the same that have been revealed to have voted in elections since 2016 and have all been registered as Democrats. The problem lies in the fact that their immigration statuses had not been correctly recorded in the MaineCare system. If they had, they would not have been allowed to vote.

Upon learning about this, RNC Chairman Michael Whatley released a statement saying, “Democrats continue to allow non-citizens on the voter rolls, repeatedly violating the law and relentlessly interfering in our country’s most important election.”

He added, “We are demanding answers and proof that Maine’s election is secure and are committed to ensuring only Americans decide American elections.”

The state of Maine, which is a Democrat-led state, does not affirmatively verify the citizenship of its voters nor does it enforce that voters present photo IDs when casting votes.

The Maine Wire also highlighted that Maine Gov. Janet Mills (D) has rejected multiple attempts at implementing election integrity reforms to protect the elections. If the claims from the whistleblower records are proven true, Maine’s voting process and integrity have been sorely compromised.

Maine is not the only state where the RNC have been taking a stand against non-citizen voting in the elections. In September, the RNC sued the state of Nevada for allowing non-citizens to register to vote. Other states where the RNC has been fighting for election integrity are Vermont, Arizona which won a majority vote in the Supreme Court as well as New York City where they also won.
