The most recent poll from Quinnipiac revealed that President Donald Trump has extended his lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in the battleground state of Georgia.
The elections are almost here and Trump is proving to be the people’s choice in the South as a poll from Quinnipiac shows him overtaking Harris. The poll, released on Wednesday and shared by Newsmax, asked voters which candidates they preferred for key issues.
Overall, Trump led with 52 percent of likely voters supporting him and 45 percent for Harris. In the poll, voters were asked who they thought would do a better job at handling the economy, and 55 percent of voters chose Trump over Harris.
RSBN reported that Karoline Leavitt, the Trump campaign’s national press secretary, said, “Kamala Harris’ terrible economic policies continue to hit the American people where it hurts.” She added, “If Kamala is given another four years, our economy will nosedive into the worst depression this country has ever seen. Americans will continue to be robbed of their paychecks with astronomical inflation and higher taxes.”
Voters trust Trump with the economy, as well as other issues like immigration, preserving democracy and handling an emergency in the country. The poll found that 57 percent of voters would choose Trump to handle immigration over Harris, who earned 41 percent. When it came to preserving democracy in the country, 51 percent of voters preferred Trump, while 46 percent chose Harris.
Newsmax shared what Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy remarked, “Georgia is on their minds, and for now, Trump is humming along and hoping to hold that old sweet song through Election Day.”
Other swing states where President Trump is leading the charge are Wisconsin and North Carolina. A poll from Morning Consult found that President Trump has a favorable rating of 49 percent in North Carolina, and in Wisconsin, he has just passed Harris to take the lead with 48 percent.
