Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., warned that Joe Biden’s recent comments about Russia and Ukraine present “a national security risk” during Monday’s episode of “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Fox News.
Watters asked Paul if he was surprised by Biden’s comments throughout his trip to Europe. Paul responded, “A lot of times when you’re around somebody who’s in cognitive decline, you find yourself trying to help them with a sentence, trying to help them complete it and say, oh no, that’s not what you really mean. Let me help you complete the sentence.”
While this may be the case for most individuals suffering from cognitive decline, Paul explained, “We shouldn’t have to do that for the commander-in-chief.”
Americans and nations across the world are looking to Biden for leadership in the troubling invasion of Ukraine. The United States is supposed to have strong leadership; however, Americans doubt the leadership ability of the Biden administration.
RSBN recently reported that polls show almost half of Americans have little to no confidence in Biden’s ability to handle the situation in Ukraine. Biden’s latest remarks will only cause more concern among Americans that Vladimir Putin will escalate his aggression.
Rand Paul said Biden’s press conference mistakes in Europe are “a national security risk” because he is “sending signals that no one in their right mind would want to send to Russia at this point.”
Paul explained, “We aren’t trying to replace Putin in Russia, we aren’t trying to have regime change, we’re not sending troops into Ukraine, and we’re not going to respond in kind with chemical weapons. So, none of those things are true.”
During his trip to Europe, Biden suggested that he would send American troops to Ukraine and possibly use nuclear weapons. He also said that Putin “cannot remain in power.” However, in a Monday press conference, Biden claimed, “None of the three occurred.”
In his interview on Fox News, the Kentucky senator asserted, “He lives in an alternate universe where he just says they’re not true, and he didn’t say them. So, I guess you’re supposed to look the other way.”
While the Biden administration certainly hopes to convince the American people that Biden did not make incredibly troubling remarks, the American people are not fooled.
“Even the left-wing media is noticing these gaffes,” said Paul. He added, “I do think that it is a real problem.”
“We’re worried about what he’s saying precipitating or escalating the conflict in Ukraine into a world war,” the senator continued, before warning, “That’s very serious.” Paul concluded, “It’s just intemperate speech, is what it is.”
While the administration attempts to “walk back” Joe Biden’s comments, the American people are left wondering what Putin’s response will be in the coming days.
