“The National Guard have been deployed to Arkansas, and my Administration is ready to assist State and Local Officials, as they help their communities to try and recover from the damage,” he continued.

The president also called for Americans to join him and First Lady Melania Trump in prayer for those impacted by the storms.

Mississippi Republican Gov. Tate Reeves declared a state of emergency with at least six deaths reported in his state.

“I signed a State of Emergency tonight that allows us to further mobilize state assets and better support response and recovery efforts in the counties affected by the storms,” Reeves posted to X.
