According to the Department of Justice (DOJ) press release, this included 90 doctors and licensed medical providers involved in health care fraud and opioid schemes, which amounted to over $6.5 billion.
In addition, the release announced the apprehension of fraudsters from Kyrenia, Estonia, and the Philippines who raked in billions more in fraudulent health care scams.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has suspended over a thousand providers and revoked billing privileges for nearly 1,500. This was made possible through a “whole-of-government approach” with multiple agencies working together across the United States.

Fraud Czar Vice President J.D. Vance called it “Great work!” and celebrated the coordinated effort to execute the fraud takedown. “If you’re committing fraud, we’ll find you,” he stated on X.
We will find fraud. We will stop it. We will recover taxpayer dollars whenever the law permits, and we will restore integrity to the programs that millions of Americans rely on for their care. https://t.co/nIIMz4v4ex

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr.) also posted about the takedown on X. He shared a clip from the press conference in which he revealed a new “detect-and-prevent strategy” that investigates healthcare claims before money is paid from the treasury. “Our objective is straightforward: to stop the fraud before it happens.”
He explained that this approach will be strengthened and expanded. “We will find fraud. We will stop it. We will recover taxpayer dollars whenever the law permits, and we will restore integrity to the programs that millions of Americans rely on for their care.”
