During a Team Trump Iowa Commit to Caucus Rally in Sioux Center, Iowa, on Friday, President Donald Trump encouraged his supporters to “bring your friends” and vote on Election Day in Iowa ahead of the state’s caucus on Jan. 15.
“Ten days from now, the people of this state are going to cast the most important vote of your entire lives,” said Trump. “I used to say that 2016—and I believed it then, and now I believe this is even much more important.”
Trump then predicted that he would have a “tremendous victory in Iowa” but pleaded with his supporters to “get out and vote” because “bad things happen when you sit back.”
“It’s so important that we get out and vote and really show it,” said Trump. “Show the strength because the only way we can get hurt is if you sit home and want to watch the great results on television. Then you say, ‘Is it too late? We’ve got to get out there fast.'”
Trump concluded that despite the polls having him “way, way up,” “strange things happen,” signaling the potential of possible election shenanigans.
