President Donald Trump rejects Kellyanne Conway’s claim in her book that she was the “first person” in his “inner circle” to tell him he lost the 2020 election.

The 45th president wrote on Truth Social on Thursday, “Kellyanne Conway never told me that she thought we lost the election. If she had I wouldn’t have dealt with her any longer – she would have been wrong – could go back to her crazy husband.”

Trump’s statement comes after Conway released a new book called “Here’s the Deal.” Conway writes, “I may have been the first person Donald Trump trusted in his inner circle who told him that he had come up short this time.”

Conway served as Trump’s campaign manager during the 2016 presidential election and helped him pull off an upset victory against Hillary Clinton. After Trump’s inauguration, Conway served as a counselor to the 45th president until her departure in August 2020.

Conway’s departure from the White House came after her husband, George, spent most of Trump’s presidency bashing the administration. As a result, Conway chose to step down from her position and focus on her family.

In her book, Conway explains, “Democracy will survive. America will survive. George and I may not survive.”

“Writing books can make people say some very strange things,” said Trump, “I wonder why?”

Trump also pointed out the tremendous success of his 2020 campaign, stating, “Got 12 million more votes than we did the first time, the most votes, by far, of any sitting President.”

Despite Conway’s claims, Trump wrote, “The election was RIGGED. They used Covid to cheat and steal, and the evidence is massive and indisputable. See ‘2000 Mules.'”
