Trump foreshadows ‘thrilling new era of national success’ in inaugural address

President Donald Trump is now officially the 47th President of the United States, and America’s sunniest days lay ahead.

The president was inaugurated on Monday during a solemn and impactful ceremony held indoors at the U.S. Capitol within a packed rotunda filled with members of Congress. Trump took the oath of office while his family surrounded him.

“The Golden Age of America begins right now,” President Trump said, taking the podium after being treated to an incredible rendition of the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” by the U.S. Naval Academy Glee Club.

“From this day forward our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world,” he continued. “…We will not allow ourselves to be taken advantage of any longer.”

He promised to “very simply, put AMERICA FIRST.”

The president cut a sharp figure in a dark blue suit, accompanied by First Lady Melania, who wore black with a angled, low-cut hat.

“For many Americans, January 20, 2025, is liberation day,” the president continued.

Trump’s remarks were measured and meaningful. He reflected on the assassination attempt that nearly took his life. “I was saved by God to make America great again.”

He promised to restore the scales of justice in America and end the “vicious, violent, and unfair weaponization of our Justice Department” while aiming to prioritize making the nation “proud, prosperous, and free.”

President Trump also foreshadowed a “thrilling new era of national success” and noted that “sunlight is pouring over the entire world – and America has the chance to seize this opportunity like never before, but we must be honest about the challenges we face.”

“From this moment on, America’s decline is over,” he vowed.
