President Donald Trump is the man to beat in New Hampshire, according to new 2024 GOP primary polling information from Coefficient.
New Hampshire, which is renowned for its important “first in the nation” status in the U.S. presidential primary, is considered integral territory for prospective presidential candidates to win.
In the Granite State, Trump is leading a crowded field of primary opponents by 34 points, capturing 43 percent of voters’ support.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) fell to second place in their poll, netting only 9 percent, which tied him with former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley earned 7 percent of support, Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., managed to net 5 percent, and popular businessman Vivek Ramaswamy won 5 percent, as well.
New Hampshire offers four electoral votes in the presidential election, and in the general, the state has historically swung heavily Democrat. However, the GOP primary is heavily favoring Trump this year, as it did in 2020 and 2016.
In fact, in February 2020, President Donald Trump easily won the New Hampshire GOP primary with a whopping 83 percent of the Republican vote, via Politico.
In June, President Trump visited New Hampshire and delivered remarks to the New Hampshire Federation of Republican Women at their famous Lilac Luncheon. Per RSBN, he was greeted by local supporters outside the venue who cheered and supported his arrival.
On Tuesday, the president will return to New Hampshire for a campaign event in Windham, fresh on the heels of his dominating polling position in the state.
Just hours before his arrival, his campaign announced the launch of New Hampshire’s “Veterans for Trump” coalition, spearheaded by Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., also a war veteran.
The campaign explained, “Representing all major branches of the armed forces, these 120 distinguished veterans from New Hampshire joined together to endorse President Trump as America’s next Commander in Chief.”
