President Donald Trump launched his “Believers for Trump” coalition on Friday, according to a statement from his campaign.

The coalition, alongside the Believers and Ballots Program, seeks to “engage with faith communities and church congregations” to spread the news about Trump’s support of religious freedom during his 2024 presidential campaign.

“We don’t punish prayer. We don’t tear down crosses. We don’t ban symbols of faith. We don’t muzzle preachers and pastors. In America, we celebrate faith, we cherish religion, we lift our voices in prayer, and we raise our sights to the Glory of God,” Trump said in his campaign’s press release announcing the coalition.

Reverend Franklin Graham, who prayed during the Republican National Convention ahead of Trump’s nomination, also expressed his support for the effort.

“My faith is in Jesus Christ, who redeemed me from my sins with His blood on Calvary’s cross. In this country, it is so important that we defend and preserve the freedom to live out our faith and share this Good News with others,” Graham said in the news release.

“As a friend, pastor, and faith advisor to President Trump for over 20 years, I’ve been able to witness President Trump’s deep commitment to faith. And never more than after surviving the violent attack on his very life on July 13th. As president, he championed people of faith of every denomination and defended our religious freedoms with the belief that we worship God, not government,” Pastor Paula White added.

The coalition’s website states, “People of faith are rallying around President Trump’s campaign because during his presidency our shared values were defended.”

Accomplishments noted in the mission statement included that “Trump secured the nomination of three Supreme Court justices to defend our religious liberties, provided equal protections to people and businesses of faith, and made decisive actions to promote life. By announcing our support for President Trump, Believers for Trump across the country will work tirelessly to deliver President Trump a second term and retire Biden’s anti-faith agenda for good.”
