President Donald Trump addressed the concerns of millions of Americans on Monday night during remarks delivered at the newly renamed “Club 47” in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The president specifically spoke to the election processes in the United States, calling for the prioritization of “free and fair elections” on the road to 2024.
“Yeah, we want to have free and fair elections,” he said. “We want to have voter ID, we want to have all of the things…we don’t want to have elections that last for 62 DAYS. We don’t call it Election Day anymore; we call it Election Period.”
He added, “No, it’s so sad when you look at what’s happened with our elections – again, like a third world country.”
The president also took questions from the audience on Monday night. One woman posited, “So, we can sit here but nothing means anything unless we have a valid election. What will we do to change it now?”
Trump replied:
“Yeah, I agree. So, it’s such a great question – it’s a question I would ask first all the time, because we have to get in. So, what we’re going to do is number one, they collect and they harvest ballots – in many places it’s illegal, but they do it anyway. We’re going to have to get a lot of ballots. And I was always for Election Day voting, but when I watched what happened in Arizona, where the machines were all broken…Kari Lake had lines so long and the people couldn’t vote because of a big percentage of the machines in Republican areas were ‘broken,’ okay?”
He continued, “What we’re going to have to do is we’re going to have to fight like hell on that day, those few days of the election and we’re going to have to make sure that they’re not going to steal this election from us.”
The 45th president also hinted at implementing a common-sense standard for federal elections if he won in 2024, noting that “once we’re in” his administration could “change it to paper ballots, same-day voting, voter ID, and be done, okay?”
Trump’s position on ballet harvesting – which is the action of a third party delivering a ballot for a registered voter – comes just after his campaign kickstarted a ballot harvesting fund to aid in ballot collection for the 2024 presidential election. For reference, ballot harvesting is legal in many states in the U.S.
Per RSBN, a Trump campaign email stated last week, “Our path forward is to MASTER the Democrats’ own game of harvesting ballots in every state we can.”
