A new poll released on Tuesday for the 2024 Republican Primary presidential nominee showed former President Donald Trump leading the way by 49 points.

The Morning Consult conducted a national survey over the weekend of more than 3,000 “potential Republican voters,” asking them who they would vote for in the upcoming 2024 Republican primary.

While Trump has been leading the polls since announcing his run for president, according to the Morning Consult, he is now leading as the GOP nominee by 62 percent among Republican voters, which is “near a tracking high of 63% on Oct. 21.”

Florida Gov. Ron Desantis fell short at 13 percent in the poll, nearly doubling former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who stood at 7 percent. However, newcomer Vivek Ramaswamy hit 6 percent, and former Vice President Mike Pence landed with 5 percent.

Notably, while Trump maintains a lead within the 2024 GOP primaries, he also is leading Joe Biden in key swing states for the 2024 general election, according to Morning Consult.

Although Biden and Trump are hypothetically tied for a general election, according to Morning Consult polls, Trump seems to be beating the current president on many “key battlegrounds.”

“…the GOP front-runner is beating the incumbent in the key battlegrounds of Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, while Biden leads Trump in Nevada and they’re tied in Michigan, according to surveys we conducted on behalf of Bloomberg News,” stated Morning Consult.
