On Monday, the Trump Organization introduced Trump Mobile, a new mobile phone service launching in September alongside a $499 T1 smartphone. Notably, the announcement came on the 10th anniversary of President Trump’s 2015 trip down the golden escalator in Trump Tower to announce his first presidential run.
The service offers a monthly plan with unlimited talk, text, and data, plus roadside assistance and telehealth benefits, according to its website. The T1 smartphone features a gold-colored metal case with an American flag engraving.
The wireless service, named “The 47 Plan” and priced at $47.45 monthly, nods to President Donald Trump, the 45th and 47th president. A screenshot of the forthcoming T1 smartphone on the website showcases Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.” Similar to other Trump-branded products, such as watches, sneakers and Bibles, launched during his political career, Trump Mobile’s entry into telecommunications primarily involves a licensing deal.
The Trump Mobile website says its service delivers coverage equivalent to the three major U.S. carriers and highlights a U.S.-based customer service call center. For security reasons, the call center location is unknown at this time.
Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T, the leading U.S. wireless carriers, did not immediately respond to inquiries from major news outlets regarding Trump Mobile’s new service.
According to the site, the T1 smartphone runs Android 15, featuring a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, a 16-megapixel front camera, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and a 50-megapixel primary camera.
Speaking at the event in Trump Tower, Donald Trump Jr. remarked, “We’ve partnered with some of the greatest people in the industry to make sure that real Americans can get true value from their mobile carriers. A big part of what we’ve done right now in the world has been focused on technology for people who have been underserved, whether that’s been in crypto or anything else. But one of the places where we felt there was lackluster performance was in the mobile industry, and so with trump mobile we’re going to be introducing an entire package of products that people can come and they can get telemedicine on their phone for one flat monthly fee, roadside assistance in their cars, unlimited texting to 100 countries around the world, and we’ve partnered with some of the best to really bring something unique to the American people.”
