President Donald Trump expressed concern over growing war tensions after India executed a series of airstrikes against Pakistan on Tuesday.
Political commentator Dom Lucre posted a clip of President Trump taking questions at the White House on X. The 47th president called it “a shame,” just after learning about the airstrikes.
“They’ve been fighting for a long time,” he added, noting how tensions between the two nations have been an issue for years.
Then he concluded, “I just hope it ends very quickly.”
According to Reuters, India bombed Pakistan and Pakistani Kashmir on Wednesday in retaliation for a terrorist attack that killed 26 tourists in India two weeks ago.
This comes just as the United States and India agreed upon a trade deal. RSBN reported that Vice President JD Vance had traveled to India to closely negotiate trade terms appropriate to the America First agenda.
India has reportedly offered a zero-for-zero tariff policy on automobile parts and steel, via Bloomberg.
Similarly, the U.S. has been negotiating trade terms with Pakistan. Last year, the U.S. exported $2.1 billion in goods to Pakistan and imported $5.1 billion in Pakistani products. A bilateral trade agreement is currently being negotiated via Arab News, and the hope is that both foreign nations can avoid war remains a priority.
