President Donald Trump slammed Piers Morgan and questioned his credibility after he released a “deceptively” edited clip from their interview together which appeared to show the 45th president storming off set. However, Trump refuted this claim and provided evidence proving it never happened.
“If I did what Piers Morgan did in his fake interview with me, rigging and redoing my words, and then making it sound like I walked out of an interview, the failed gubernatorial candidate and Radical Left Racist, Attorney General of New York Letitia James, would start an immediate investigation and demand the re-institution of the death penalty, or whatever may be worse than that,” Trump said via his Save America PAC Thursday.
“I don’t believe Piers is a complete slimeball, but he lost a lot of credibility,” the 45th president added.
On Wednesday, Morgan published a trailer coined the “Most Explosive Interview of the year,” demonstrating a fiery exchange during their interview.
The edited video attracted numerous “fake news” media platforms that published articles spreading the narrative of an aggravated Trump who allegedly stormed out of the interview, as previously reported.
However, Trump quickly clarified the situation, saying Morgan “went out of his way to deceptively edit” the interview and denied rumors that he walked out of the interview early.
“He wanted to make it look like I walked out on the interview when my time limit of 20 minutes went over by an hour,” the 45th president states Wednesday. “The good news is that the interview was taped by us as a means of keeping him honest.”
Trump’s communications director, Taylor Budowich, then released the audio to Breitbart News, revealing the interview ended cordially – a drastically different picture than what Morgan’s trailer insinuated.
Morgan can even be heard saying it was a “great interview” at the end of the audio clip.
“Piers is off to a bad start, but thanks to me, he may get a final bust of big ratings before it all comes crashing down!” Trump concluded.
