President Donald Trump made a promise to bring America back to dominance with a policy of “peace through strength” on the global stage, eviscerating establishment politicians for plunging the U.S. into needless and endless foreign wars.
“WE WILL TURN THE PAGE FOREVER on those foolish stupid days” of endless foreign wars, he vowed.
The president’s comments were made in Newton, Iowa on Saturday at a Commit to Caucus rally just a little over one week out from the anticipated caucuses, which represent the first big primary contest of the GOP 2024 primary election season.
“If you’re going to go in [to war], you’ve got to fight to win,” the president pointed out, stating that before he was president, he advised strongly against the U.S. sending military forces to the Middle East.
He said, “For a thousand years they’ve been fighting each other….Then we [the U.S.] go in, and we obliterate one side – and now the other side’s a great power.”
The president added, “We should have NEVER gone into the Middle East.”
President Trump promised that he would restore “peace through strength” in the White House, and while he noted that a country had to be “prepared” to do things, he believed that war was actually very “unlikely” when things were handled right.
The president pledged during his remarks to stop World War III, which the world has been facing since chaos has erupted in the Middle East and Ukraine.
He reminded caucus-goers, “I’m the only candidate in this race that is up to the task of saving America.” He also promised, “We will not have World War III with me as your president.”
