Trump during an interview this week explained the media has it backwards about what happened in the 2020 presidential election and the events of Jan. 6.
“The election was the insurrection,” Trump told Newsmax, “The January 6 day was not the insurrection, that was the ‘protest.'”
Trump spokeswoman Liz Harrington shared Trump’s latest comments on the 2020 election and the tragedy of Jan. 6 on Wednesday, giving a very different perspective than the liberal media.
Concerning the Jan. 6 committee, Trump said, “They’re going after people who were protesting.”
In recent months, the 45th president has been accused of supporting the Capitol riots. Even though Trump called for a peaceful protest and immediately called for an end to the violence on Jan. 6, the media has continued to push the narrative that Trump incited an insurrection. This narrative led to House Democrats forming a committee to investigate Trump’s role in the event, another veiled attempt to smear the reputation of Trump’s historic presidency.
During the phone interview, Trump once again reiterated his position on the rioters, “I’m not saying everybody behaved.” However, he also reminded Americans, “There were a lot of other people involved there. And they know who they were. But they’re not showing it.”
His comments demonstrate how the media has only portrayed only one side of the events on Jan. 6 in an attempt to label Trump supporters as insurrectionists. Democrats have even gone as far as to imprison American citizens, who entered the Capitol that day, in federal corrections facilities and denying Republican lawmakers access to the facilities.
Trump also highlighted the horrible tragedy that occurred when Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt was shot and killed at the Capitol. He said the man who shot Ashli Babbitt, “couldn’t get out fast enough to say how he shot an unarmed young lady.”
Previously, Trump has said, “There is no reason Ashli should have lost her life that day. We must all demand justice for Ashli and her family.”
While the media and Democrat party continues to push their narrative about January 6, Trump continues to push for people to be held accountable for their actions and for justice to prevail.
Trump’s challenge to the liberal media’s narrative is not the first time he has called the 2020 election the real insurrection. In an interview with Nigel Farage, Trump said, “The real insurrection took place on November 3, that was election day.”
Each week, more evidence is presented which shows massive election irregularities and voter fraud, contradicting the media’s claim that the election was completely secure and legitimate. Currently, multiple states are in the process of conducting election audits and examining the evidence of election fraud.
The 45th president concluded his comments by warning the media, “Don’t kid yourself, the public gets it. They understand, and they’re not happy.”
Millions of Americans have expressed serious concern for election integrity and fixing the disaster that occurred in the 2020 election. While multiple states have passed voting reforms for future elections, Americans still are eagerly waiting for something to be done about the massive evidence of the “rigged” 2020 election.
