President Donald Trump had some fun with the “MAGA” moniker that his America First movement has embraced over the past several years, taking to Truth Social to highlight some positive attributes of his supporters.
He wrote, “WE ARE MAGADONIANS, WE ARE VERY SMART, WE STICK TOGETHER AS ONE, WE FOLLOW TRUTH SOCIAL, WE PUT ‘AMERICA FIRST,’ AND WE WILL ‘MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!’”
His comment sparked humorous support online, where MAGA voters and Trump fans quickly fashioned memes, videos, and art surrounding the newly-coined term, Magadonian:
President Trump built his 2016 campaign largely on his unpredictable and unfiltered commentary during debates, interviews, and especially on Twitter, where he sparred with political opponents and allies alike.
Through Truth Social, Trump can post his thoughts without fear of being censored by Big Tech. Regardless, his Truth Social comments are endlessly circulated on Big Tech’s platforms in the form of screenshots.
As the 2024 presidential primary season heats up, President Trump is the overwhelming frontrunner in the Republican battle for the nomination. Per RSBN, he is leading the second-place contender, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) by hefty margins in most primary polling.
Rasmussen Reports’ newest GOP primary survey found that Trump was leading DeSantis by 28 points following DeSantis’s presidential launch in late May. This indicates a 13-point swing toward Trump from February 2023 and a subsequent 2-point loss for DeSantis.
On Monday morning, former Vice President Mike Pence filed FEC paperwork to run for president in 2024, but it is unlikely that his announcement will have a big impact on the direction that the primary polls are headed going into next year’s election.
According to a poll from McLaughlin & Associates, after campaigning heavily in Iowa last week, Trump walked away with 49.5 percent of the GOP primary vote while DeSantis walked away with 24.5 percent in the early-caucus state.
