White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced on Wednesday that President Donald Trump will celebrate 100 days in office for his second term with a rally in Michigan.
The rally will be held in Macomb County, where he won 55 percent of the vote in November.
“President Trump is excited to return to the great state of Michigan next Tuesday, where he will rally in Macomb County to celebrate the FIRST 100 DAYS!” Leavitt posted to X.
House GOP chair and Michigan Republican Rep. Lisa McClain celebrated the press secretary’s announcement.
“There is no better place to celebrate Day 100 than Macomb County,” she wrote on X.
Michigan Republican Rep. John James, who recently announced his run for governor of Michigan, also posted to social media following the news of Trump’s visit.
“Macomb County is honored to welcome President @realDonaldTrump back to MICHIGAN to celebrate the first 100 days of America’s New Golden Age. Together, we will Make Michigan Great Again,” he wrote.
Before he visits Michigan, Trump is expected to fly to Rome to attend the funeral of Pope Francis on Saturday. It will be the president’s first foreign trip of his second term.
“Melania and I will be going to the funeral of Pope Francis, in Rome. We look forward to being there!” Trump posted on Monday to Truth Social.
The visit also comes after Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer met with the president twice at the White House.
Trump also talked with Michigan leaders earlier in April about the importance of Macomb County’s Selfridge Air National Guard Base.
“I think we’re going to be successful, governor. I think we’ll be very successful there,” Trump said about Selfridge with Whitmer during her visit.
“We’ve gotten some good feedback from (Defense Secretary) Pete Hegseth and the Department of Defense, and talking about F-16s and talking about F-35s, and, you know, et cetera. It’s a great piece of property. It’s a great location, and it’s a great state. So I think we’re going to come back with a very good answer,” he added.
