President Donald Trump personally weighed in on Republican Sen. Tim Scott’s official 2024 bid for the presidency on Monday, wishing him luck as the primary field continues to expand ahead of the Republican nomination battle.

“Good luck to Senator Tim Scott in entering the Republican Presidential Primary Race,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He added, “It is rapidly loading up with lots of people, and Tim is a big step up from Ron DeSanctimonious, who is totally unelectable. I got Opportunity Zones done with Tim, a big deal that has been highly successful. Good luck Tim!”

According to The New York Times, Sen. Scott, who represents South Carolina, announced his candidacy on Monday, just a few days after filing paperwork with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). “Our party and our nation are standing at a time for choosing: Victimhood or victory?” Scott told a crowd at Charleston Southern University.

According to the Washington Examiner, Sen. Scott recently won reelection in South Carolina in last year’s 2022 midterms. He will now be the second presidential candidate who hails from South Carolina. The first, of course, is former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

Last week, Trump’s MAGA Inc., offered comments ahead of Sen. Scott’s official presidential announcement, as MAGA CEO Taylor Budowich stated, “…Tim Scott’s entrance, and aggressive media purchase, doesn’t only kneecap DeSantis, but Scott sees the same thing as Youngkin, Sununu, Burgum, Christie, and others: the path to 2nd place is wide open. They smell Ron DeSantis’ blood in the water and no longer see him as an obstacle.”

So far, President Trump has powerfully pulled ahead in the 2024 GOP primary race headed into next year’s election season. A recent survey from Harvard/Harris, for example, found that the 45th president had a whopping 42-point lead for the 2024 Republican Party nomination over the runner-up, Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla.
