President Trump’s first book since leaving the White House, Our Journey Together, grossed more than $1 million in sales within the first 24 hours of it being announced. Over 9,000 hardcover copies have reportedly been pre-ordered.
Trump’s massive book sales come amid efforts by publishers, including numerous employees at publisher Simon & Schuster, attempting to prohibit Trump and members of his administration from publishing books.
“We have seen such an incredible response to President Donald Trump’s newest book,” Winning Team Publishing President Serigio Gor told the Washington Examiner. “Selling a million dollars worth of books in 24 hours is just extraordinary.”
Winning Team Publishing was formed by Gor and Donald Trump Jr. this year. Gor also noted that the recent influx in sales occurred before they began promoting and advertising the book.
Our Journey Together has been described as capturing the luster of the past four years under the Trump administration with 300 photographs from his time in the White House. Each photograph, handpicked by President Trump, has a caption written by the 45th President, some in his own handwriting.
“Our Journey Together features unforgettable moments from our time in Washington: building the southern border wall, cutting America’s taxes, confirming almost 300 federal judges and three Supreme Court justices, rebuilding our military, creating Space Force, dealing with Kim Jong-Un, President Xi, President Putin, and many other world leaders, and battling liberals on two impeachment witch hunts, just to name a few. These proud accomplishments stand in stark contrast to the destruction of our country taking place right now,” Trump told Washington Examiner and Washington Secrets Columnist Paul Bedard.
A standard copy of Trump’s book goes for $74.99, while a signed copy goes for $229.99. It is set to be released on Dec. 7.
