President Trump’s much-awaited social media platform may launch sooner than previously thought.
Devin Nunes, CEO of Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), recently announced TRUTH Social would “launch by March” as the platform undergoes beta testing.
However, according to the Apple Store listings, the free speech platform could come as soon as Presidents’ Day.
TRUTH Social emerged a year after President Trump was banned across all social media platforms for allegedly inciting violence during the Jan. 6 Capitol protests.
The Twitter alternative is reported to appear similar to Twitter’s interface, except it will embrace free speech.
The app will consist of a trending topics area and will allow users to follow one another. Instead of hitting “tweet” when posting a statement, the users will press “truth.”
The 45th president teased his return to social media in his first post on the platform. “Get Ready! Your favorite President will see you soon!” Trump wrote.
Donald Trump Jr. shared a screenshot of the post on Twitter, saying, “Time for some Truth!!!”
Americans, who have experienced the political censorship endorsed by Big Tech companies first-hand, are anxiously waiting to hop on the platform that will not censor their views.
