Youngkin’s Democrat opponent in the race for Governor, McAuliffe, has dropped in favorability in the polls after making inflammatory comments on the campaign trail about Trump supporters, calling them “deplorables,” an oft-touted Democrat term for conservative voters who support the 45th president.
In addition, Youngkin’s endorsement by Trump has likely boosted his numbers considerably as the president has historically had the “golden touch” of vaulting his endorsed candidates to victory in their respective races.
