Vice President J.D. Vance delivered remarks in Peachtree City, Georgia, on Thursday, championing the Trump administration’s hard work to slash taxes for American families while also making a powerful promise to the heart and soul of the middle class.
Vance’s speech took place in Alta Refrigeration Inc.’s manufacturing facility, where, according to the vice president, the company apparently makes products that are routinely shipped to “Chick-fil-A” stores nationwide.
“As a customer – a frequent customer at Chick-fil-A – I’ve got a personal connection,” Vance joked.
The vice president’s comments were focused on highlighting the middle-class tax cuts codified in President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which was signed into law on July 4.
Vance broke down the president’s policy on trade and the economy by emphasizing the importance of the tariff system, describing it as a “carrot and the stick.”
“If you make it overseas, if you try to do something with a foreign worker as opposed to an American worker…then you are going to pay a big fat tariff before you bring that crap back into the United States of America,” he said.
Vance dug in hard on slashing taxes, noting, “If you’re working hard, the government ought to leave you alone…if you’re working hard and play by the rules, you ought to have a government that stands up for you instead of fights you.”
He also praised President Trump’s crackdown on crime nationwide, ranging from cleaning up the streets of D.C. to securing the border from illegal alien crossings.
“It’s never the rich people that lack public safety in this country…it is the people the Bible calls the ‘least of us’ that struggle the most and hurt the most,” he said. “So I’m proud to be here as your vice president, I’m proud to be here as a representative of President Trump.”
Impactfully, Vance reflected on his difficult childhood and the challenges facing everyday American families like the one that raised him.
“I’m proud that the kind of family that made me who I am finally has a representative and a fighter in Washington, D.C.,” he said. “I promise you, we’ll keep on fighting for you every step of the way.”
