During an interview with Newsmax on March 20, newly elected Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Whatley detailed the committee’s plans during the months leading up to the 2024 presidential election.

He told the hosts that “the best thing we’ve got going on is we now actually have a nominee, and we’ve got an absolutely fantastic nominee with Donald Trump.”

He said that the RNC was “reconfiguring” and “reorganizing” the organization to “effectively merge with the campaign and make sure that we have one unified operation that’s going to be in the field.”

Whatley noted that the RNC would “really spend all of our time working on two main things. Number one we’ve got to get out the vote, and number two we need to protect the ballot.”

He emphasized that the committee would be focused on “winning where we need to win” around the country, “but really spending time in the battleground states.”

RNC co-chair Lara Trump recently reported a record fundraising weekend just days after the leadership change.
