U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi announced charges Thursday against three individuals allegedly “responsible for the violent destruction of Tesla properties” in three different states, marking swift justice against violent offenders as CEO Elon Musk works closely with President Trump in the White House to cut waste and abuse.
“The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended. Let this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars,” Bondi said in an official statement.
All three defendants allegedly used Molotov cocktails to destroy Tesla cars or light charging stations on fire, according to a press release from the Department of Justice.
According to these allegations, the first defendant destroyed Tesla property in Salem, Oregon, the second defendant attempted to destroy Teslas in Loveland, Colorado, and the third defendant wrote “profane messages against President Trump around Tesla charging stations” and lit them on fire in Charleston, South Carolina.
If convicted, defendants face a minimum of five years in prison and up to 20 years, per the DOJ.
The defendants have not yet been named, but this prosecutorial action comes amid a rash of anti-Tesla vandalism and violence aimed at harming the business of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is spearheading President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.
As reported by RSBN, these attacks have spread nationwide against Tesla dealerships and charging stations.
Bondi’s move to swiftly prosecute these alleged Tesla arsonists also comes just a week after President Trump promised to stick up for Musk’s company amid his work for the administration. Specifically, the president said he would protect companies from domestic terrorism.
“You do it to Tesla – you do it to any company – we’re going to catch you and you’re gonna go through hell,” Trump told the press.
