President Donald Trump shared on Truth Social that reruns of his reality TV series “The Apprentice” will be streaming on Amazon.
Trump highlighted the Emmy-nominated program he starred in from two decades ago in a post on Monday afternoon.
“Back by popular demand, for the first time in 20 years, the Emmy nominated ORIGINAL APPRENTICE STARRING PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP is back!! Watch Season 1 of The Apprentice, now streaming on Prime Video. New seasons every Monday!” Trump wrote.
The programs will be released on Mondays to subscribers of Amazon Prime in the U.S. Amazon paid $40 million to license the programs, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter.
The show premiered in 2004 on NBC and was produced by Mark Burnett. It reportedly had 20 million viewers at its peak and was a top-10 show during its first season.
“The Apprentice is one of the best shows that I ever produced. The charismatic onscreen presence of President Donald J. Trump made it a bona fide hit,” Burnett said in a statement to the Reporter. “Now, thanks to Prime Video, a whole new audience will experience a new season every Monday.”
Amazon previously announced in January that First Lady Melania Trump will star in a documentary about her life, slated for streaming and in theaters in 2025.
The upcoming documentary, licensed exclusively through Amazon Prime Video, will offer its viewers an “unprecedented behind-the-scenes look” at the incoming first lady, an Amazon spokesperson announced Sunday.
“We are excited to share this truly unique story with our millions of customers around the world,” the spokesperson said in the company’s press statement.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos attended Trump’s inauguration in Washington, D.C. He also reportedly donated $1 million to the president’s inaugural committee.
Bezos, the founder of Amazon and owner of The Washington Post, changed the outlet’s policy by not endorsing a candidate during the past presidential election. Amazon has also donated $1 million to the inaugural committee.
