The new owner of sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch property has been revealed. Not only is he a Texas Republican who is running for office, but he has also described plans to transform the property—where victims were likely abused—into a Christian retreat and rename it after the archangel of healing.
According to KRQU, Texas Comptroller candidate Don Huffines bought the New Mexico ranch in 2024 with the intention of transforming it into a place of healing.
“This was obviously a dark place and we wanted to put light in a dark place, it always shines the brightest when you do that. My faith is so strong in Jesus… The plan all along is to make this property into a Christian retreat.”

During an interview with former Congressman Matt Gaetz on One America News, he said, “This was obviously a dark place, and we wanted to put light in a dark place; it always shines the brightest when you do that.”
“That’s why we named it Saint Raphael,” he added. Saint Raphael the archangel’s name means: God Heals. He is the Saint of guidance and healing, something that Huffines said is important for the area.
Huffines also agreed to comply with a new probe into the area.
On Tuesday, New Mexico lawmakers launched an investigation into Zorro Ranch, according to local Fox10TV. House members unanimously voted to create a Truth Commission with the authority to subpoena witnesses and use a $2 million budget.

Trending Politics co-owner Colin Rugg commented on the situation in a post on X, which included a statement from Huffines that noted, “At the time of the sale, it was marketed that the proceeds would go to the victims. It has since been confirmed by the estate’s attorneys that proceeds from the sale benefited the victims.”
“No law enforcement agency has ever approached me to request access, and I have always said unequivocally that any such request would be met with immediate access and full cooperation.”
