The Inaugural Parade celebrating President Donald Trump’s second term kicked off with a tribute to fallen firefighter Corey Comperatore on Monday.

Members of the Butler County Pennsylvania Fire and Rescue Services carried Comperatore’s uniform at the head of the parade noting that he died during the assassination attempt of President Trump’s life on July 13 last year.

He was honored for his “selfless community service” as a Buffalo, New York, firefighter, and everyone was asked to remember him through a moment of silence. It was a somber occasion in the middle of a massive celebration that reminded Americans of the recent turmoil in the nation.

Comperatore’s memory has followed President Trump into his second term and isn’t likely to be forgotten. He was honored during the Republican National Convention just days after losing his life, per the New York Post, and during Trump’s return to Butler rally in October, via RSBN

His family has been supportive of Trump’s continued homage. A clip of his wife sharing what it meant to her on local Pittsburg 4 Action News was posted to X by Turning Point USA Founder and CEO Charlie Kirk.

She stated through tears, “We were all like, there’s his moment. He’s up on stage.”
