First Lady Melania Trump joins Parler as it regains traction among conservatives

Former First Lady Melania Trump has officially joined free speech platform Parler, the company announced on Twitter.

Trump’s arrival on the platform marks its most significant public figure to join the platform, which has been widely lauded as an alternative to Twitter.

Candace Owens, whose husband, George Farmer, serves as the chief executive officer for Parler, has continually promoted the platform along with a host of other prominent conservative media figures. Owens praised Melania Trump’s addition to Parler.

The latest move from the Trump family comes amid an onslaught of new users to alternative platforms to Big Tech. Many Americans are ditching Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to spaces that are conservative-friendly.

President Donald Trump announced earlier this year he intends to roll out Truth Social, which will be a place for his supporters to express their political opinions without fear of discrimination.
