Concerned GOP senators on Capitol Hill gathered for a special press conference on Tuesday highlighting the horrific crimes being facilitated at Joe Biden’s wide-open southern border.

The presser, which was hosted by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, Senate Republican Conference Chairman John Barrasso (Wyo.), Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Sen. Pete Ricketts, R-Neb., focused on their experience tagging along for a midnight patrol with the U.S. Border Patrol at the southern border.

Sen. Cruz’s statements were straightforward and matter-of-fact, lambasting the Biden administration for facilitating the deluge of illegal immigration that has flooded into the United States.

He said, “This is an administration that doesn’t want to secure the border…they want eight million to become 10, to become 12, to become 20 million…”

Sen. Cruz explained that on a midnight patrol, “within minutes, you encounter groups of illegal immigrants.”

He related how their group encountered 20-25 people, mostly women and children, and explained how their conversation unfolded.

He continued, “I wish every one of you in this room had been there to see this group…one little girl, she was 13 years old, traveling as an unaccompanied minor…she said she [was] going to see her tio.”

“Tio” is Spanish for “uncle.” He noted, grimly, that several other children in the group related the exact same line. “They were also going to see their tios,” Cruz said, noting that the children claimed that they were supposed to “call” their tio when they crossed over the border. When offered a phone to do so, one of the children refused.

He added, “It was obvious this was not her uncle she was calling.”

Sen. Cruz further shared the story of a young girl in the group who was there with a much older man. He explained, “There was a 10-year-old girl with a grown man of about 35 years old, he claimed to be her father…this girl was terrified…he had his arm around her but it wasn’t a fatherly hug, it was more holding her in place…we asked her about her mother and she just looked, terrified, at the ‘dad.’”

He highlighted the fact that under the Trump administration, when border authorities would DNA test men crossing the border with accompanying children, roughly 30 percent of them were not related. Joe Biden and his administration have since ended the policy, effectively eliminating U.S. border authorities’ ability to discern if minors are being trafficked.

Sen. Cruz said, “The cartels are literally renting children to grown men and we were looking at children that were in all likelihood in the process of being sex trafficked.”

As reported by RSBN, a horrifying admission in April from the director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement’s Unaccompanied Alien Children Program, Robin Dunn Marcos, revealed that more than 85,000 children who have crossed over the border in the last two years have vanished without a trace. It is likely that most of them end up in the human sex slave trade, which has become a staggeringly illicit $99 billion business in the domestic United States.

He called the horrors at the southern border “cruel” and “inhuman.”

“This administration doesn’t care…it is utterly inhumane and unspeakable what Joe Biden and the Democrats are allowing to happen, subjecting children to modern-day slavery. This has got to end,” he concluded.

The senators gathered on Capitol Hill advocated for passing stiff legislation to give Border Patrol the policies and tools they need to turn away illegal aliens at the border.
