Republican House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., announced his endorsement of President Donald Trump’s presidential bid in 2024 on Monday via social media.
“I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for president in 2024, and I look forward to working with President Trump and a Republican House and Senate to fight for those families who are struggling under the weight of Biden’s failed policies,” he stated.
Rep. Scalise included a link to his full endorsement on Fox News, which explained in depth his reasoning for endorsing the 45th president’s 2024 presidential run to reclaim the White House in November.
Under the Trump administration, Scalise said, “The economy was strong and interest rates were low — grocery costs were affordable, and families could afford to buy a house and provide for their children,” Scalise continued.
He also pointed out that the border was secure – unlike the unrestrained chaos that the Biden administration is currently overseeing at the southern border today. Scalise derided rising mortgage rates, skyrocketing inflation, and out-of-sight interest rates.
The House Majority Leader lauded Trump as a “strong leader” who can “fix the problems Joe Biden has created and – with rising aggression from adversaries abroad – deter foreign actors who wish to harm us…”
Rep. Scalise’s powerful endorsement comes less than two weeks from the rapidly approaching Iowa caucuses, which will act as the starting shot for the Republican primary race in 2024.
In his endorsement, the congressman pointed out that under the Biden administration, “our communities aren’t safe” and argued that “American families and workers deserve a president who will stand up for them and their safety, rescue us from failed Bidenomics, and restore our nation to greatness.”
