The waitlist continues to grow for President Trump’s Truth Social app.
The app, which Trump created to compete with Twitter, has 1.2 million people waiting to be let onto the app.
Conservatives have long complained about being censored on social media and were left with few competitors to flee to.
The final straw for many came after Twitter banned President Trump following the events of Jan. 6.
The Truth Social app is said to look like Twitter and is expected to attract a large user base who are excited to flee Twitter to a social media app that won’t censor their opinions.
The Trump-backed app is expected to generate revenue from advertising, in-app purchases, and other channels.
Reuters reports that it will have a trending topic area and allow people to follow each other. However, instead of hitting “tweet” when sending a statement, users will press “truth.”
According to Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) CEO Devin Nunes, the app will be fully functional by the end of this month.
Nunes, who resigned from the U.S. House to become CEO of TMTG in January, urges users to wait just a little longer for the app, promising that his team will soon fix the errors and bugs from its initial launch.
Many users experienced errors when they first signed up for an account due to high traffic. Those who could sign up were placed in a queue with hundreds of thousands of users ahead of them before they could use the app.
After Truth Social debuted on President’s Day, it skyrocketed to number one in the Apple app store, with nearly one million users awaiting access to the app within its first 48 hours.
Truth Social sent waitlisted users an update on Monday, saying it is “steadily welcoming new users” in a “phased rollout.”
