Following the shocking assassination attempt at President Trump’s Butler rally, a new poll has revealed that most people believe the Secret Service needs to be investigated.
Breitbart reported that after the failed assassination attempt took place, which left President Trump walking away with a bullet-grazed ear, new information emerged which revealed that the Secret Service had not carried out its duties to protect the president and the people attending the rally as it should have done.
According to Breitbart, a Beaver County police counter-sniper who was inside the building had spotted the gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, on the roof and had warned the command center about him. Many questioned how a man with a gun was able to climb onto a roof less than 200 yards away from President Trump and why no Secret Service personnel were stationed on the roof, which Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle claimed they couldn’t because of the “sloped roof.”
A survey that was conducted by HarrisX/Forbes from July 13 to July 15, revealed that 55 percent of participants agreed that the Secret Service should be investigated.
In the survey, participants were given two options and had to choose which they felt was correct. 55 percent of participants felt “the Secret Service and local law enforcement preparedness and response to the shooting of Donald Trump was faulty and should be investigated in detail.”
Breitbart reported that Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, has revealed that investigations into this are underway. He explained, “We got three committees. Chairman Comer is going to have Secret Service head Cheatle in on next week is the plan.”
He also added, “Mark Green, with Homeland Security, will be looking at this issue as well.” Jordan and many others want to know, “Why weren’t those buildings secure?”
