An overwhelming majority of American adults reported that the nation is headed towards the wrong direction, according to a recent NBC News poll.

71 percent of adults, including nearly half of Democrats, reported that the country is headed in the wrong direction, while only 22 percent did not.

The NBC News poll also reported that a majority of Americans strongly disapprove of Joe Biden’s job performance in the White House (42 percent approve, 54 percent disapprove). Only 18 percent of supporters strongly approve of his performance, while 24 percent somewhat approve.

A vast majority of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of the economy too (40 percent approve, 57 percent disapprove). Americans’ support of his handling of the pandemic has plummeted nearly 20 percent since April. Americans polled narrowly reported that they approved of his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic (51 percent approve, 47 percent disapprove).

A Morning Consult/Politico poll reported last month that 20 percent of Democrats wanted the 2020 presidential election results overturned, a bad sign for Biden and the Democrats.

Amid a slew of disasters plaguing the nation, support for Biden and Democrats has fallen over the past ten months since he took office. The U.S. economy has suffered record high inflation, record-growing energy costs ahead of the winter season, and a supply chain crisis causing shortages and business closures.

The U.S.-Mexico border is preparing for a caravan of more than 4,000 migrants attempting to cross the border illegally, a record surge. The Biden administration is reportedly looking to provide reparation payments of $450,000 for each individual person who illegally crossed the southern border, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.

Biden is also requiring all American businesses with 100 or more workers to vaccinate all workers or provide daily testing against Covid-19. Migrants who cross the border illegally are not required to receive a vaccination, according to White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki.

He also received criticism for reportedly deserting Americans in Afghanistan after his botched pullout led to the Taliban’s takeover. Biden’s inability to return Americans home safely came after 13 U.S. troops and 200 Afghan civilians were killed by an ISIS-K suicide bomber. Biden ordered a drone strike on the attackers, but mistakenly hit and killed an Afghan family, including seven children.

Biden’s overwhelming lack of support one year out from the 2022 midterm elections, where Republicans are expected to retake control of the U.S. House of Representatives, and possibly the U.S. Senate. Should Biden’s support continue to diminish at it’s current rate, Democrats are in trouble looking ahead to next year’s election.
