President Donald Trump said Sunday that the United States is closely monitoring Iran’s enriched uranium and will ultimately take control of it, citing advanced surveillance capabilities.
In an interview on “Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson,” the president said U.S. tracking systems can detect any movement around Iran’s nuclear sites.
“We’ll get that at some point, whatever we want,” he said. “We have it surveilled. You know, I did a thing called Space Force, and they are watching.
“If somebody walked in, they can tell you his name, his address, the number of his badge. If anybody got near the place, we will know about it, and we’ll blow them up,” he added.
His comments come as the administration continues negotiations with Tehran following recent military strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
The United States launched “Operation Midnight Hammer” in June, hitting multiple Iranian nuclear facilities, while Israeli forces have also conducted operations near key sites in recent weeks.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium remains a central concern despite the strikes.
“There’s still nuclear material, enriched uranium, that has to be taken out of Iran,” Netanyahu said.
President Trump noted that Iran’s military capabilities have been significantly weakened.
“They have no navy,” he said. “They have no air force. They have no anti-aircraft weaponry. They have no radar. They have no leaders.”
The president also criticized past U.S. policy toward Iran, including the 2015 nuclear agreement under Barack Obama, which he said strengthened the Iranian government.
“Iran has been playing games with the United States, and the rest of the World, for 47 years (DELAY, DELAY, DELAY!), and then finally hit “pay dirt” when Barack Hussein Obama became President. He was not only good to them, he was great, actually going to their side, jettisoning Israel, and all other Allies, and giving Iran a major and very powerful new lease on life. Hundreds of Billions of Dollars, and 1.7 Billion Dollars in green cash, flown into Tehran, was handed to them on a silver platter,” President Trump wrote.
“For 47 years the Iranians have been ‘tapping’ us along, keeping us waiting,” he added. “They will be laughing no longer!”
