President Trump weighed in on the results of Tuesday’s primary elections, particularly noting the victories of several far-left candidates for office in New York. In a post on Truth Social, Trump pointed out that New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani had successfully endorsed candidates he considered to be radically left.
Mamdani successfully endorsed Democratic primary candidates in three New York Congressional races, defeating incumbent House representatives in both the 10th and 13th Districts. Trump went on to criticize the outsized media coverage given to Mamdani’s endorsements, especially compared with Trump’s own track record of successfully choosing primary winners in GOP races.
“Mayor Mamdani pulled through 3 solid Communists, and has received loud and universal applause from the Fake News Media,” President Trump said. “Congratulations Mr. Mayor! I went 16-0 last night, helping to elect wonderful American Patriots, and the Media doesn’t say a word. Over the last two years, my endorsement has netted 259 Primary WINS, and almost no losses, with Zero media attention!!! FAKE NEWS.”
In another Truth Social post, Trump focused on the primary race between Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., and his opponent, former New York City Comptroller Brad Lander, for the Democratic nomination to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Lander, who received an endorsement from Mamdani, defeated Goldman by over 30 points. Goldman’s history included leading the 2019 Democratic impeachment inquiry into President Trump during his first term. Trump emphasized his role in the impeachment process, noting Goldman’s loss to Lander.
“Even though he tried unsuccessfully to prosecute me, and despite the fact that he is a major Slimeball, I feel sorry for FORMER Congressman Dan Goldman,” President Trump said. “He is wandering aimlessly, together with the former husband of the great Kellyanne Conway, through a large field of Dumocrat Communists, trying so hard to find his way – A very sad finish for a man who has no clue, and never did!!!”
