President Trump toasts wild ‘Fake News’ rumors about his health: ‘The media has so little credibility’

President Donald Trump on Tuesday addressed wild and conspiratorial rumors propagated by speculative commentators online that his health was less than optimal over Labor Day Weekend. He confirmed that he was active and working over the three-day holiday.

Fox News’ Peter Doocy facetiously asked the president in the Oval Office, “How did you find out over the weekend that you were dead? Did you see that?”

“No,” Trump replied.

The president called the speculation “crazy” and pointed out that last week, “I did numerous news conferences…and then I didn’t do anything for two days, and they said, ‘There must be something wrong with him.’”

Trump continued, “Biden wouldn’t do them for months, you wouldn’t see him, and nobody ever said there was ever anything wrong with him, and we know he wasn’t in the greatest of shape.”

On this point, President Trump is correct. Biden barely averaged 11 press conferences per year while in office. By contrast, President Trump often takes questions from the press multiple times every week during his second term.

“I did numerous shows and also did a number of Truths, long Truths…I was very active over the weekend. They also knew I went out to visit some people at the club that I own pretty nearby on the Potomac River,” Trump told Doocy.

“It’s Fake News,” he continued. “And that’s why the media has so little credibility. I knew they were saying, like, ‘Is he okay?’ ‘How’s he feeling?’ ‘What’s wrong?’… I had heard [those questions], but I didn’t hear it to that extent.”
