Republican voter registrations continue to climb in the Sunshine State, this time outpacing Democrats by over 100,000 for the first time in Florida history, in large part due to Gov. Ron DeSantis’ excellent leadership.
A spokesperson for DeSantis’ campaign told Fox News Digital the milestone of 101,000 Republican voters occurred on Tuesday morning.
“There’s no beating around the fact this historic gain is because of Governor Ron DeSantis,” Florida Republican Party executive director Helen Aguirre Ferré said. “Florida voters are appreciative of the palpable sense of freedom he has created in our state.”
Florida has become a new home for many Americans seeking refuge from authoritarian leaders imposing radical Covid-related policies in their states, like New York and California.
Unlike Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., and former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, DeSantis embraced policies that allowed freedom to flourish while combating Covid-19 in the state.
“Unemployment is lower than the national average, our schools are open, there are no lockdowns, and there are no masks. Voters recognize the governor is a champion for families and businesses alike,” Aguirre Ferré continued. “Our voter registration numbers are impressive, but a 363,000 net change? That is unprecedented.”
The Sunshine State first made history last year after the number of registered Republican voters surpassed that of Democrats, in part due to Americans seeking less oppressive Covid policies and more resilient Republican leadership.
At the beginning of the month, conservative activist Scott Presler reported that the GOP in Pinellas County took a strong lead with +2,418 voter registrations. Republican voters even successfully flipped a historically-blue Jacksonville City Council Seat with Republican Nick Howland in February.
All recent achievements reflect DeSantis’ exceptional work in the state.
While many states grapple with the aftermath of lockdowns and low employment rates, Florida’s economy is booming and recently celebrated 22 consecutive months of job growth.
There were 8,132,300 private sector jobs throughout the state for February – an increase of 525,200 over the year.
“Florida’s freedom first policies have made Florida a great state for businesses and families to grow,” DeSantis said. “When you put freedom first, you put hardworking families first, and every Floridian reaps the benefits. February’s economic data is more concrete evidence that Florida is on the right path.”
The tremendous red wave hitting Florida will boost votes for DeSantis as Floridians head to the polls in the upcoming months to reelect the great governor.
