President Donald Trump’s America First agenda is taking a big bite out of Joe Biden’s economic disaster, and as prices this Thanksgiving fall at the grocery store, the White House is sharing even more good news.

According to a report from the Republican House and Means Chairman Jason Smith (Mo.), tax filers may receive a very special surprise this year when they pay their dues: a potential $1,000 additional tax refund.

“Millions of Americans will see the working families tax cuts put more money in their pockets when they file taxes this coming spring. In our tax relief bill, Republicans wasted no time and ensured that we cut taxes on income earned this year. Americans voted to have more money in their wallet, and that’s exactly what President Trump and Republicans delivered,” said Chairman Smith in an official statement.

He was referring to President Trump’s landmark 2025 legislation, the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which was signed into law this summer.

According to Smith’s office, taxpayers across America are expected to bring home an extra $91 billion in refunds and keep $30 billion in their paychecks from “reduced witholdings.”

Americans can thank the OBBB for this. The legislation nixed taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security checks.

President Trump’s bill also increased the standard deduction for families to $1,500 in 2025 and boosted the child tax credit to $2,200.

In total, Smith’s office noted that Americans could net up to $191 billion in “new tax relief” next year.

“Tax refunds are a big deal for a lot of American families,” Smith continued. “It covers home repairs, health care, or summer vacations; all of which became completely unaffordable under Joe Biden. Thanks to the working families tax cuts, more Americans will have greater financial security and ability to provide for their future.”
