Trump blasts Bill Barr’s comments about the 2020 election

President Donald Trump blasted former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr’s comments concerning the 2020 presidential election and the Durham probe in a tweet released on Monday.

Barr recently appeared on CNN and Fox News to publicly comment on the 2020 presidential election, mail-in-ballot fraud, and the issue of Hillary Clinton’s campaign spying on President Trump. After watching Barr’s recent interviews, Trump released a statement pointing out the hypocrisy of Barr’s comments and failure to act.

Trump wrote, “Bill Barr said, and just reiterated, that the Trump campaign was ‘spied on,’ but did nothing about it.”

During a Monday interview, Fox News host Bret Baier asked Barr, “The president’s campaign was spied on – and is that a crime?” Barr responded, “Well, it depends on the motivations of the FBI people involved, and that’s obviously one of the things Durham’s will look at.”

During the CNN interview, Barr acknowledged the dangers of mail-in-ballot fraud, but President Trump blasted his remarks. Barr told CNN, “Mail-in voting is fraught with the risk of fraud and coercion.” Responding to his comments, Trump said that while Barr has warned against the dangers of election fraud, he “then did nothing to catch the fraudsters.”

President Trump has previously criticized Barr for acting like a “different man” after taking criticism from the left for his role in the Trump administration. In his latest statement, Trump explained, “He was so afraid of being impeached, that he went to the other side and they left him alone.”

In a scorching rebuke of his former attorney general, Trump called Barr, “A ‘Bushie’ who never had the energy or competence to do the job that he was put in place to do.”

After the 2020 presidential election, Barr claimed the Justice Department investigated allegations of widespread voter fraud and “To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election.” He also stated, “If there was evidence of fraud, I had no motive to suppress it. But my suspicion all the way along was that there was nothing there.”

Trump revealed last summer that Barr had even directed the Pennsylvania DOJ to refrain from pursuing investigations of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Americans, along with the 45th president, have been left questioning why the former attorney general would have dismissed the evidence of widespread voter fraud without a proper investigation.

Trump spokeswoman Liz Harrington explained, “Bill Barr knew there was going to be massive fraud in 2020, and when it happened he did nothing about it.” She described Barr as a “coward” after his recent comments to the media.

While Barr attempts a comeback tour of publicity in the media, Trump continues to remind Americans of Barr’s inability to address election fraud.
