President Donald Trump demanded that the Federal Bureau of Investigations preserve its records related to diversity, equity and inclusion efforts after it quietly closed its DEI office ahead of the inauguration.

Trump shared the comments on Thursday night in a post to his Truth Social account.

“We demand that the FBI preserve and retain all records, documents, and information on the now closing DEI Office—Never should have been opened and, if it was, should have closed long ago. Why is it that they’re closing one day before the Inauguration of a new Administration? The reason is, CORRUPTION!” he wrote.

Fox News exclusively reported on Thursday that the FBI closed its DEI office last month.

“In recent weeks, the FBI took steps to close the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI), effective by December 2024,” the agency told Fox News Digital.

The closing came the same month that FBI Director Christopher Wray announced that he would resign ahead of Trump’s return to the White House.

Trump blasted Wray in a Truth Social post at the time of Wray’s announcement.

“The resignation of Christopher Wray is a great day for America as it will end the Weaponization of what has become known as the United States Department of Injustice. I just don’t know what happened to him. We will now restore the Rule of Law for all Americans,” Trump began.

The president blasted Wray’s involvement in raiding his Mar-a-Lago home, along with the FBI’s part in impeaching and indicted him.

“Under the leadership of Christopher Wray, the FBI illegally raided my home, without cause, worked diligently on illegally impeaching and indicting me, and has done everything else to interfere with the success and future of America. They have used their vast powers to threaten and destroy many innocent Americans, some of which will never be able to recover from what has been done to them,” Trump stated.

Trump also highlighted Kash Patel, his nominee to lead the FBI when he returns to the White House next month.

“Kash Patel is the most qualified Nominee to lead the FBI in the Agency’s History, and is committed to helping ensure that Law, Order, and Justice will be brought back to our Country again, and soon,” he wrote.
