President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Vice President Kamala Harris is afraid to debate him on Fox News.
Trump shared the words in a post on Truth Social following ongoing controversy in securing a debate with Harris.
“Kamabla Harris is afraid to Debate me on FoxNews. he wrote on Truth Social Tuesday morning.
“She will be easier to defeat on the Debate Stage than Crooked Joe Biden, just watch!” he added.
Trump agreed on Friday night to a debate against Harris. It would be held on Sept. 4 in Pennsylvania, where he survived an assassination attempt during a Butler rally less than one month ago.
“I have agreed with FoxNews to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th,” Trump wrote in a Friday post on Truth Social.
“The Debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant, and I am in litigation against ABC Network and George Slopadopoulos, thereby creating a conflict of interest.”
Trump also pushed for an arena audience to watch the debate with Harris.
“The Moderators of the Debate will be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and the Rules will be similar to the Rules of my Debate with Sleepy Joe, who has been treated horribly by his Party – BUT WITH A FULL ARENA AUDIENCE!” he wrote.
Critics argue that Harris has agreed to a Sept. 10 debate with Trump on ABC News. Trump’s response indicates that he has opted to avoid the network due to legal battles he faces.
Trump previously told an audience during a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, rally that he would be glad to compare his record with Harris during a debate.
Trump told the crowd, “In one of the most astoundingly phony moments in her speech last night, Kamala Harris bragged and quote, ‘I will proudly put my record against Donald Trump’s any day of the week,’ and then gave his best impression of Harris declaring, “I will put it against Donald Trump.”
“She’s got one of the worst records in, anywhere,” Trump retorted. He then emphatically stated, “Well, Kamala, let’s go, challenge accepted, are you ready? Let’s compare our records, point by point,” and the crowd erupted in thunderous applause and cheers of approval.
