President Donald Trump predicts Democrats’ progressive policies will cause a massive victory for Republicans in the 2022 midterm elections if the left imposes tax hikes on Americans.
Gearing up for a heated political battle for control of Congress and the Senate, President Trump on Tuesday said in a statement from his “Save America” PAC, “If Democrats are able to piece together their huge tax hikes, called by another name, it will mean an additional 40 Republican seats in the House and at least a few additional Republican Senators in the U.S. Senate.”
The 45th president’s statement comes just hours before the House of Representatives reportedly plans to hold a forced vote on the 2,400-page $3.5 trillion infrastructure package on Thursday. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., in addition to Joe Biden, have both told Americans the astronomically expensive package will cost $0 to them, despite that it is entirely funded by tax dollars and will result in inevitable tax hikes.
Rep. Mark Green, R-Tenn., told Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo on Thursday morning that Pelosi has informed congress that a vote is happening “today” on this bill, despite that she may not have the votes to pass it.
“I think she’s going to continue to twist arms all day long today and then we’re going to vote,” Green said. “I think we vote on it today unless she knows for sure that it’s not going to happen, and then there may be a chance we get called back next week… But right now, out of her office, we’re voting.”
In a show of bipartisan opposition to the bill, Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin announced in a statement on Wednesday that he cannot support this level of spending on more social programs “when we have already spent $5.4 trillion since last March.” He continued, “At some point, all of us, regardless of party must ask the simple question – how much is enough?”
Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., blasted the package as a “socialist blowout program” that the U.S. simply cannot afford to raise the debt limit for.
The massive infrastructure package includes several left-wing agenda items including expanded Medicare, universal pre-k, free community college for two years, more legal protections for “gender identity,” amnesty, climate change initiatives, and more.
