Trump talks with Boeing and GE Aerospace in Qatar, celebrating incredible aerospace deal

President Trump met this week with leaders in aerospace engineering and manufacturing in Doha, Qatar, celebrating a historically massive deal securing Qatar Airways’ commitment to purchase products from Boeing and GE Aerospace worth billions.

The meeting comes just after the president unveiled a jaw-dropping $1.2 trillion economic commitment from Qatar, of which $243.5 billion between the U.S. and the Middle East country is based on economic deals and the purchases from Boeing and GE.

“It’s been a very special trip,” Trump said, referring to his multi-day visit to key Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, and Qatar.

“Our country is hot – it’s hot as a pistol,” he remarked.

The president added, “I think we’re the hottest country in the world right now. Six months ago, they were laughing at the United States, but they don’t laugh anymore.”

Trump recapped his trip, briefly reflecting on his decision to lift sanctions on Syria and as well as his administration’s bold stance to halt Houthi terrorism in Yemen. “We’re trying to give Yemen a chance, we’re going to give Syria a chance,” he said.

On Wednesday, President Trump also met with the new Syrian President al-Shara. “I met the new leader of the country, he’s got a strong past,” Trump said. “…I liked him a lot, I think he’ll be a great representative.”

Circling back to the issue of economic prosperity, he turned to the business leaders sitting beside him, noting, “We’re surrounded by some of the greatest business people in the world.”

Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg and GE Aerospace CEO Larry Culp flanked the president at the business table. The president was also joined by U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik and U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

Mr. Culp said his company was “excited” to move ahead with the deals made in Qatar. Boeing’s Mr. Ortberg expressed great thanks for President Trump’s leadership and said they were “very pleased to be selected by Qatar” for this massive, multi-billion-dollar deal.

President Trump pointed out that under previous leadership, the United States was “losing” their relationship with the Middle East and failed to show them the respect they “deserved.”

Under Trump’s leadership, the Middle East is scrambling to ink massive deals with the United States, and his ongoing trip overseas powerfully illustrates that fact. According to the White House, Qatar Airways’ deal with Boeing and GE Aerospace will secure the sale of up to 210 Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 777X aircraft, which are powered by GE’s engines.

According to Mr. Ortberg, these aircraft will be manufactured on American soil, creating countless American job opportunities.
