President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign is rapidly picking up steam, and that momentum is strongly reflected in the latest GOP primary polls.
According to a new survey from McLaughlin & Associates, the 45th president scored 46 percent of support for a 2024 presidential primary nomination against potential political rival Governor Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., who netted 23 percent of support.
Impressively, President Trump won 61 percent of support among GOP primary voters in a head-to-head primary poll against DeSantis. The Florida governor scored 31 percent of support in the matchup, illustrating a whopping 30-point gap between the two conservative leaders.
Former Vice President Mike Pence drew 8 percent of support while declared presidential candidate and former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley snagged 5 percent in the general GOP primary poll.
Premise Data also found in their latest poll, conducted between March 16-21, that Trump led the field of potential and declared Republican candidates for the 2024 nomination, dominating with 56 percent of support among GOP voters. DeSantis accrued 26 percent in that poll.
As reported by RSBN, the previous Premise poll reflected a 52 percent lead for Trump against DeSantis’s 26 percent. The most recent data demonstrates a 4-point gain for Trump and a 1-point loss for DeSantis in less than one month.
The most recent Premise Data survey also found that 57 percent of those surveyed indicated that they would support Trump in a head-to-head primary battle against DeSantis, who scored 33 percent. This demonstrates a 4-point gain for Trump since March 7 and a 4-point loss for DeSantis.
Another survey from Big Village on March 17 again solidified Trump’s comfortable position as the lead candidate in the 2024 GOP primary race with 52 percent of voter support against DeSantis’s 24 percent. In their poll, Trump won 64 percent of the vote in a head-to-head matchup while DeSantis snagged 36 percent.
