President Trump’s lead over the field of Republican presidential candidates is unshakeable as the first GOP debate is set to be held in just one month.

According to new data from Harvard/Harris, Trump has cemented a 40-point lead as the preferred 2024 presidential nominee among GOP primary voters with 52 percent of support. Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., scored only 12 percent of support, while businessman Vivek Ramaswamy rose to third place with 10 percent of support.

Impressively, a survey of nationwide GOP likely primary voters from Rasmussen found that the president held a massive 44-point lead over DeSantis, earning 57 percent of support against DeSantis’s 13 percent.

The first Republican primary presidential debate is scheduled to take place on Aug. 23 in Milwaukee, but it is unclear at this time if President Trump will be taking the stage this early in the primary race.

Last week, he hinted that the idea to have former Fox News host Tucker Carlson facilitate a one-on-one discussion with the president on the night of the Fox News debate was “interesting.”

The president is also strongly leading in key battleground states ahead of the primary, with Race to the WH projecting Trump will win Iowa, South Carolina, Nevada, and New Hampshire in a clean sweep in 2024.

In a Fox News poll, Iowa GOP caucus-goers were asked which candidate they believed was “most likely to defeat Biden” in 2024. 45 percent of respondents indicated that Trump had the best chance, while 23 percent indicated that DeSantis had the best chance.

Additionally, Iowa caucus-goers were asked who their preference was for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. 46 percent preferred Trump, 16 percent favored DeSantis, and 11 percent indicated that they would like to see South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott (R).

Per RSBN, recent betting odds from Maxim Lott and John Stossel revealed that Trump had a 68.1 percent chance of winning the GOP nomination next year.
