A White House statement provided a “fact check” on Tuesday, confirming that President Donald Trump will not cut Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid benefits.

The article also provided a quote from Elon Musk revealing that his full statement only supported removing waste and fraud in entitlement spending.

“The Trump Administration will not cut Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid benefits. President Trump himself has said it (over and over and over again),” the article stated.

“Elon Musk didn’t say that, either. The press is lying again,” it continued.

Musk’s statement during a recent interview spoke out against misused spending within government programs, including Social Security, that he is seeking to end to help better improve the work of federal agencies for Americans.

“The waste and fraud in entitlement spending — which is most of the federal spending is entitlements — so, that’s, like, the big one to eliminate. That’s the, sort of half-trillion, maybe $6-700 billion a year,” Musk said during a Fox Business interview.

Trump also spoke out in defense of Musk this week in a post on Truth Social.

“To Republicans, Conservatives, and all great Americans, Elon Musk is ‘putting it on the line’ in order to help our Nation, and he is doing a FANTASTIC JOB! But the Radical Left Lunatics, as they often do, are trying to illegally and collusively boycott Tesla, one of the World’s great automakers, and Elon’s ‘baby,’ in order to attack and do harm to Elon, and everything he stands for,” Trump wrote.

“They tried to do it to me at the 2024 Presidential Ballot Box, but how did that work out? In any event, I’m going to buy a brand new Tesla tomorrow morning as a show of confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American. Why should he be punished for putting his tremendous skills to work in order to help MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN???” he added.

Trump later bought a Tesla on Tuesday at the White House with Musk at his side.

“I just want people to know you can’t be penalized for being a patriot, and he’s a great patriot, and he’s also done an incredible job with Tesla,” Trump said.
